History
Nuko was the eldest pup born to the alpha pair of Tropa Fakel. It was a small yet powerful, close-knit pack and Nuko was the prime candidate for the next alpha male. His father would always say that family was the only thing important enough to die to protect and the alpha should be the first to take the stand. As a juvenile, Nuko never quite understood what he meant but he aspired to follow in his paw prints. One afternoon, while scouting the pack's perimeter, he came across an unfamiliar smell. Remembering his father's words, Nuko charged toward the threat. Bounding through the forest, he came nose-to-nose with a pure white wolf with piercing emerald eyes. Startled, he practically cowered before her, her silky smooth voice melting away all ill intentions. For a few weeks, Nuko would meet the female called Mila at the same spot every afternoon and listen to her tell stories of her adventures. Nuko approached his father, telling him of his intentions to leave the pack and abandon the alpha role. Though he was disappointed, Quidel bid him farewell with his blessing with one last tender nuzzle from his mother Amaris.
Mila gave birth to two pups, only one of which survived the first few days after birth. The weather was particularly harsh this year, and the two decided that moving den sites was the best option to give their remaining pup Sutorei his best chance. About halfway through their long trek, the new family came across a deep chasm with only a bridge of ice and stone providing access to the other side. Nuko walked across first deeming it steady enough to cross. As he came back to their side, a large grizzly tore through the brush. Nuko fought the bear, sinking his canines into the bear's throat, but he was quickly thrown off. Mila took off across with the bridge with Sutorei hanging from her jaws. As Nuko staggered to his feet, all he could do was watch as the massive beast followed after them. He could here the crunching of ice and stone as the bridge began to collapse under their weight. He watched on in horror as the figures descended to the bottom. Limping as fast as he could to the cliff's edge he looked down. He only recognized Mila and Sutorei by the crimson-stained snow that surrounded their pure-white coats. For three hours he howled mournfully, interrupting the eerie quietness of that night.
The months that followed were nearly the end of him. Visions of Mila haunted him at all hours of day and night, as well as the playful yips of Sutorei. Sometimes their voices would tell him that they were hungry, and he would hunt, always leaving their portion untouched. Other times they would seem to coax him to come find them, and he'd trot deep into the forest as if they could turn up at any moment. His aimless wandering soon enough brought him to Aurora's pack. For a while he resented the group, distraught that the presence of others had stifled his visions. But as time passed and he began to form real relationships again, his resentment turned into an intense loyalty, not only to the pack as a whole but to each individual wolf.
Personality
Before losing his pups and mate Nuko was a very playful adult, always trying his best to keep up with Sutorei. Afterwards he became very reserved, most likely from a lack of socialization. He is very thoughtful, however, thoroughly listening to every word that his pack mates say.
